LEAF
It comes in various shapes, colors and textures and I find it beautiful in all stages of its existence. Its decaying substance becomes nutrition to the soil and it is a perfect respiratory system for balancing the flow of carbon dioxide and oxygen on the planet. My intention in portraying a leaf, is to tell a little story of its volatile residence in that moment in time.
It’s not easy to resist the gravitational pull to grab a picture, when you find one standing out in the scenery. I always photograph "as is", with no interference or adjusting the subject. I only occasionally remove some debris if it is interfering with the overall composition.
